This cable provides access to advanced diagnostic commands blocked by the SGW/SGM gateway, such as: • Clearing fault codes • Launching tests of actuators • Starting adaptation and coding etc
Note this is not a permanent fix cable and must be removed after the diagnostic session is completed.
WHAT IS SECURITY GATEWAY MODULE (SGM / SGW)?
The Security Gateway module (SGM / SGW) is a factory protection present in recent cars, which limits diagnostic queries only to reading e.g. information about the controller, reading fault codes, VIN number and OBD2 mode. To gain access to advanced diagnostics, you must have authorized, expensive tools and access to FCA databases or install a special bypass such as our renault group Bypass
